Redirect & HTTP header checker
See which steps your URL redirects through and where it ends up, whether the http/https and www versions all lead to the same URL, and which headers your server sends.
What gets checked?
Multi-step redirects slow down your pages and lose part of the link equity. Use 301 for permanent moves and reduce the chain to a single step.
- Redirect chain: status code (301, 302, 307, 308) and time for each step
- Four versions: http, https, www and non-www URLs all leading to a single URL
- Security headers: HSTS, Content-Security-Policy, X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options, Referrer-Policy
- Performance: compression (gzip/br), Cache-Control and server response time
- Indexing: X-Robots-Tag header
Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between 301 and 302?
A 301 is a permanent move; search engines index the new URL and pass on link equity. A 302 is temporary; the old URL stays in the index. Use 301 or 308 for permanent changes.
Should I use www or non-www?
Either works. What matters is picking one, redirecting all other versions to it with a single 301, and using the same URL in your canonical tags.
What is HSTS?
The Strict-Transport-Security header tells browsers to open your site only over HTTPS; it protects against man-in-the-middle attacks and removes the unnecessary http redirect.
